Attitudinal Healing (AH) is a path to emotional well-being, based on the principle that our thoughts and attitudes - not external events - determine our emotional experience. AH teaches that peace of mind is possible even in the face of hardship by consciously choosing how we think and feel. Rather than focusing on changing behaviour, AH emphasizes inner healing through self-awareness, offering the principles and guidelines as practical tools to use in our daily lives and peer support to help individuals retrain their minds and respond to life with clarity, compassion, and resilience. By shifting our inner perspective, we can find peace of mind, even in difficult times.
If you’re experiencing emotions like resentment, frustration, anxiety, or other forms of stress, Attitudinal Healing offers gentle guidance toward a fresh way of seeing, helping shift perspective, and the possibility of a renewed and more peaceful life.

The Attitudinal Healing Peer Support Model, developed by Dr Jerry Jampolsky in 1975, grew from his experience as a psychiatrist and a pivotal moment when he heard a young leukaemia patient ask, “What is it like to die?” - a question that was left unanswered. Realizing the need for a safe space where children facing life-threatening illness could openly discuss their fears and questions, Jerry formed the first peer support group in 1975. Rooted in universal spiritual traditions, this model was designed to help others - and himself - heal fear through shared experience. Soon the groups of children extended to their families and all sorts of adult groups. Without a formal plan, AH spread organically and now exists in over 60 countries around the world.
